ARTIST STATEMENT
Started over a decade ago, Records is a long-term, ongoing project that records my everyday surroundings and thoughts. A lens-based artist, I use meditative photography to investigate the instability of life, the legacy of memory, and the universal narratives in which we exist. Often I have been fixated on the idea of my own memory, looking for ways to always remember the small, seemingly insignificant moments of magic found in the day-to-day. I chase the light and beauty of ordinary life and I chase the special feelings that can be found in any moment. With my camera, I seek to follow the path of many photographers before me and create a classical recording of my life and all that is holy about it.
